Entertainers Worldwide Registered Function / Party Band

In 2013 Jacquie took a break from the film industry and pursued a new hobby – web design. Through word of mouth the business grew and, after teaming up with Willem Prinsloo, their client list grew to include on-line shops, information- and listing sites as well as personal and professional websites. We love to work with clients to create a site that suits their personality and image at an affordable rate.

Willem is now based in Dubai where he works for a renowned international medical company, while still providing excellent technical support back home.

Going hand-in-hand with the film industry and videography is the world of stills, of course!  I have recently invested in some camera equipment and have embarked on a fantastic, creative journey ranging from studio portraits to travel blogs.  I have joined Shutterstock and this has opened up a whole new world of earning a passive income.  No job is too big or too small.  Here are some of my favourites, but you can view my work at http://shutterstock.com/g/jaxthejoker

Jacquie has performed in various groups over the past few years, ranging from cover- to corporate projects and acoustic- to dance bands. Although her music taste spans a wide genre, she is a supporter of local original music. Thus her repertoire ranges from 60’s sing-a-longs to latest dance hits, as well as some afrikaans pick-me-uppers.

Jacquie’s second biggest passion is script writing/directing. Without formal education she embarked on a journey to educate herself in the process of film making by working in the industry, learning from her peers. What followed was a dabble in music video production, working with fellow musicians on entry level projects as well as some fun projects for friends in need of marketing material. With music video production costs being unaffordable to most musicians, she hopes to hone her skills and eventually produce high quality, competitive video’s at the lowest rates possible.

(The King’s Tears) is our pet project. We are in the process of producing the first English/Swazi Children’s Movie in Mpumalanga. This adventure story will entertain and inspire the young people of our country to move away from indoor technology and embark on outdoor adventures! Our hope is to reach out to children of all ages and ethnicities and invite them on our journey of honour, self discovery, bravery and the value of true friendship.

Working as an Art Standby on film sets for the past 5 years Jacquie has gained a lot of knowledge and insight into this section of film making. Designing, creating and modelling sets and props have become a passion, branching into painting and wood work. Teaming up with muralists and professional artists she is now working on creating a platform to help locals sell their work, thus earning an income from their talents.

Through her various projects, ranging from music to film making, her biggest goal is to uplift local communities through the teaching of new skills and creating an environment where they feel valued, supported and are thus encouraged to produce their wares.

Jacquie started her musical career around 2000, when she formed the all-girl duo MELK. After performing at various venues countrywide she was selected as a contestant on M-Net’s Big Brother II in 2002. During that year MELK won the SABC 2 Geraas competition as best newcomers with their song “Kerrewen Country”, touring extensively and eventually splitting up when both embarked on careers in the film industry. Jacquie formed various groups, performing at venues and theatres throughout the country.

After a 6 month stint at Trader Horns, Sun City she moved to Cape Town where she worked on the KykNet series “Vallei van Sluiers” as well as several films (‘n Man Soos My Pa & Strikdas). She also started Girls of Rock, the tribute – paying homage to the women of 70’s/80’s rock including Bonnie Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Heart, Blondie, Cher, Janis Joplin, Juice Newton, Suzi Quatro and local band Clout. She continues to perform, solo and with fellow musicians, and lives in the Lowveld with her son.
